The Centre County Grange Fair is one of the most popular traditions in Central PA, dating back to 1874.
Families from around the state come to the encampment fair every August. Many families have camped in the same spot for years, their tent being passed on from generation to generation. The Fair includes musical performances, animal shows, delicious food, games, rides, and so much more. There are many different shows, including livestock competitions, and even an art competition.
This year, seven residents of Juniper Village at Brookline Senior Living entered 25 unique pieces of artwork to be judged among other art in several categories, including Valentine Creations, Easter Creations, Christmas Creations, Animal Creations, Nativity Creations, Leaf Imprinting, Flower Arrangements, Gourds, and “Any Other”. Residents work on pieces of art throughout the year and submit their pieces to the Grange Fair in August. This year, each resident took home a prize from the fair. 5 pieces also won Best in Show in their respective categories!
Congratulations to our talented residents: Eleanor Hazel, Angie Bottino, Stevie White, Grace Ormston, Elaine Stevens, Julia Braca, and Stanley Person. Make sure to tune in next year to see how our residents’ art fares at the Grange Fair in 2019!
