The team at Juniper Village at Brookline Wellspring Memory Care is dedicated to supporting the fight against Alzheimer’s.
In May, Juniper Village at Brookline took their teamwork to a new level by forming a softball team to play in the inaugural David’s Dreamers Celebrity Softball Tournament. Held at Hess Field in State College, the day-long event raised over $14,000 to support the State College Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Juniper was one of twelve teams to participate in this double-elimination tournament. Adding to the excitement was a celebrity home-run derby featuring notable sports figures such as former Penn State football and NFL players Josh Hull and Wally Richardson, former Philadelphia Eagle Jaqua Parker, and current Nittany Lions coaches Terry Smith, Jeff Campersal and Pat Chambers. Rounding out the celebrity team were local media personalities, such as Jeff Brown from 93.7 The Bus, ESPN Radio’s Cory Geiger, and Alex Hazzard and Joe Murgo of WTAJ-TV.
The day was filled with comradery, enthusiasm, and lots of laughs! For links to resources from the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, visit https://www.alz.org/pa/
