Juniper Village at Brookline is excited to be hosting a new book club that is open to anyone in the State College area and surrounding communities! The group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 11:00 AM at Juniper’s Senior Living building located at 1930 Cliffside Drive in State College. The book club discussions are led by Penn State Librarian and Assistant Director of the Pennsylvania Center for the Book, Ellysa Cahoy.
On October 16, the group will be discussing the uplifting novel Wonder by author R.J. Palacio. In November, we’ll talk about Still Alice by New York Times bestselling author and neuroscientist Lisa Genova. This novel about a woman who suffers early-onset Alzheimer’s disease was also made into an Academy Award-winning movie starring Julianne Moore.
At Juniper, we’ve always had a very active book club, but we’re thrilled to be able to expand it to the broader community with the help of Ellysa Cahoy. Her professional background and enthusiasm are sure to foster insightful and lively discussions.
For more information, or to join us at the next meeting, contact Jill McKenrick, Connections Director. She can be reached at 814-235-2041 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to see you there!
