Even though this is the busiest time of the year for him, the real Santa made a stop at Juniper Village at Lebanon just in time for our big Christmas party!
Both buildings were decorated with beautiful trees and lights, and the tables were filled with cookies of every type, plus punch and eggnog. Everyone was able to take a bag of cookies home or back to their rooms or apartments. We enjoyed live piano music in both buildings by Denise Weaver and our new apartment resident Nancy Hemler. There were dancers spotted in both buildings, including Santa Claus himself “cutting the rug” with at least one lady! Santa gave each resident a handmade gift, which were lovingly crafted by his helpers at E.A.R.S., and each child received a special candy bar. The cameras were flashing like we were on the red carpet at the Oscars! We really appreciated all of the extra help by our wonderful volunteers, family members and off-duty staff, which helped everything move along very smoothly! Even after Santa left to continue his rounds, there was a contented buzz of laughter and conversation in the room that made several of the staff and volunteers stop and reflect that this is the best part of the holidays—spending time with family and friends!
