Juniper has spent years looking at the issue of providing high quality services driven by our core values. Our research showed that the caring attitude and friendliness of staff is a key determinant in our customer's perception of quality. It also showed that understanding the unique spirit in each individual was the key to fostering quality of life. In order to effectively deliver services which reflect these core values and service standards, Juniper has developed signature programs which enable us to “walk our talk”. These are our family customs, the things we all do the same way for which people identify us. By using these programs diligently at each community we define our family customs which in turn define the Juniper family of communities as a distinct model for excellence in care and service that fosters healthy and independent lives regardless of age or challenge.

Juniper University:
A comprehensive educational program for Associates, residents, families and the community at large
There are three distinct “colleges” within Juniper University: In Touch College is a specialized path-driven educational program designed to empower Associates to recognize and care for a resident’s individuality while developing their own skills and enhancing their careers. Juniper University is also the home to the College of Lifelong Learning for residents and friends of Juniper’s communities and the College for Family and Community Learning.

Activities to keep mind, body and spirit vibrant
Staying fit physically and connected socially are key to healthy aging. Our Alive in All SeasonsSM Program provides activities designed to keep residents connected, engaged and involved with others as well as to the communities in which they live.
Green CanopySM:
Greening our residences and programs means healthier living for residents and staff
Juniper’s Green CanopySM programs emphasize the company’s leadership role in designing and operating buildings that meet new standards of environmental sustainability. Juniper is proud to be the first long-term care company to build and operate a building to the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program.
Partners in Caring:
Partnering with families and community based providers of care and service
Partners in Caring aims to establish close relationships with our residents and their families as well as the community-at-large so that we coordinate well our efforts to provide quality of life to our residents. This is particularly important as one makes the decision to call Juniper Village “home”. An important component of Partners in Caring is our New Beginnings program, a team effort that helps us collect and coordinate a variety of health and personal preferences so that we may welcome new residents and insure that their transition to our community is a good one.
In each Juniper Community, we are pioneering a unique network of traditional and complementary health care providers. Juniper also works diligently to acknowledge the important role of families through our monthly Friends and Family Call program and our Healthy Expectations Seminar. Our goal is to integrate families and professionals into the everyday rhythms of our communities. After all, it really does “Take a Village”.

Wellspring is a unique program designed to meet the special needs of individuals living with memory impairment. The Wellspring program creates a life affirming therapeutic environment which emphasizes individual strengths and supports wellness for our residents and their families.

Comprehensive and continuous quality improvement and best practice assurance programs.
Pride in Practice and Performance assesses and assures that the highest possible quality of services are provided by measuring, reviewing, analyzing and determining problematic trends and then implementing solutions.

Feeling at home starts with your first call to Juniper Village being answered by a kind and caring individual ready to assist you. Feeling at home continues when you visit Juniper Village and feel comforted by the well maintained grounds, the smiling faces and warm reception.
R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
Programs for Associate Welfare and Spirit
R.E.S.P.E.C.T. is Juniper Communities’ signature program which promotes associate satisfaction. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. is comprehensive and multifaceted and focuses on associate welfare and spirit. The program includes our In Touch training program, our professional development programs, communications and of course recognition. Juniper has a host of formal and informal award programs including our unique Giraffe and Juniper Spirit awards. Starting in 2011, an annual weeklong celebration will be held at each community to honor our Associates and their fine work. Award ceremonies, family picnics and other daily recognition events will be planned.
