As we age, our bodies change in many ways that affect the function of both individual cells and organ systems. These changes occur little by little and progress inevitably over time. However, the rate of this progression can be very different from person to person. Research in aging is beginning to find out the reasons for these changes and the genetic and environmental factors that control them.
For Juniper Communities, nurturing the spirit of life is more than just a catch phrase, it is the heart of our mission. To bring our mission to life we have designed, developed and implemented, signature activity programming called Alive in All Seasons. This programming is based upon the concept of whole person wellness that addresses six dimensions: physical, social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and vocational.
To further our commitment, Juniper Communities has joined forces with Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging, a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the mission of creating ways to age well. As part of this partnership our residents receive a Resident Whole Person Wellness Survey yearly. This survey, developed by Perry Edelman, Ph.D. assesses, from the resident’s perspective, satisfaction, stage of change, self-efficacy and goals across the 6 wellness dimensions. The survey provides valuable information that enables us to further enhance our signature program, Alive in All Seasons.
